FULLY COMMITTED in Provincetown in July

Morgan will appear for two performances at the Provincetown Theatre in Provincetown, MA in FULLY COMMITTED by Becky Mode: Sun & Mon July 18 & 19. All performances at 8 pm. Running time: 1h 20m.

This devastatingly funny off-Broadway hit follows a day in the life of Sam Peliczowski, an out-of-work actor who mans the red-hot reservation line at Manhattan's #1 resturant. Coercion, threats, bribes, histrionics--a cast of desperate callers will stop at nothing in their zeal to land a prime reservation, or the right table. Amid the barrage, Sam's got his own needs to contend with--his recently widowed Dad wants him to come home for Christmas, and he's up for a choice part at Lincoln Center. While juggling scheming socialites, name-dropping wannabes, fickle celebrities, and egomaniacal bosses, can Sam manage to look out for himself?

FULLY COMMITTED--the delicious restaurant comedy that never stops dishing!

HAMMERSTEIN show a HIT!

Thanks to all who attended and helped make the two May 6 performances of the Hammerstein concert at Weymouth Center in Southern Pines, NC a smash. Both shows were sold out.

The two performances yesterday were a great kick-off for this brand new concert show. A terrific reception with great food, some press, and lots of pictures followed the second performance. All of us enjoyed our time at Weymouth.

To book the Hammerstein concert (or any of the other concerts) just click on the email links at www.morgansills.com.

Here's to the next show!

Hammerstein Concert POSTPONED due to weather

Just received a call from Weymouth Center for the Arts and Humanities - they've elected to POSTPONE the Hammerstein concert scheduled for Jan 30 due to weather. North Carolina will likely get several inches of snow and an ice storm Friday night and Saturday, making it hazardous to drive.

Reschedule date will be late spring (likely March-April). Stay tuned for more news.

Welcome

Well, here it is, folks--by popular demand: the first blog post. Many of you encouraged me to start a blog about my career and projects. In addition to news about upcoming performances, you may be subjected to occasional musings about theatre and music and life.

Right now, I'm deep into rehearsals for a benefit concert on January 30th of Oscar Hammerstein II lyrics for Weymouth Center for the Arts and Humanities in North Carolina www.weymouthcenter.org.

MORGAN SILLS sings OSCAR HAMMERSTEIN II lyrics

Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Weymouth Center for the Arts and Humanities

555 E. Connecticut Avenue, Southern Pines, NC 28387

Reservations (strongly recommended): (910) 692-6261

Seats are selling very briskly, and the Johnny Mercer evening we did at Weymouth in 2008 was sold out with some people turned away (!), so if you're going, please call and make a reservation.

An all new show is hard work. There are a lot of songs I've always known but never performed before. Delving into these lyrics and making them work acting-wise and musically is very rewarding.

I may also include the occasional quote on this blog, as I seem to find good quotes everywhere. Hopefully, it won't be TOO much like "Deep Thoughts".

Today's quote:

"You can't give them your heart if it's not there." -- Al Jolson to Betty Hutton
