MISS PELL IS MISSING wins Outstanding Reading!

The Wildcat Theatricals production of MISS PELL IS MISSING by Leonard Gershe (directed by Daniel Haley) won the Midtown International Theatre Festival (MITF) Award for Outstanding Production of a Reading. Morgan accepted at a packed, dressy ceremony at New World Stages.

There were 8 readings in the Festival this year, and 4 nominees for Outstanding Production of a Reading. The award MISS PELL received is the only award they give to a reading--selected by the Festival powers that be, some of whom see every single show in the Festival.

The Wildcat Theatricals production of MISS PELL IS MISSING was dedicated to the memory of playwright, screenwriter, and lyricist Leonard Gershe.

MISS PELL IS MISSING at Midtown International Theatre Festival

Wildcat Theatricals produced its 3rd show in the Midtown International Theatre Festival - a staged reading of Leonard Gershe's rarely-seen charming comedy MISS PELL IS MISSING, for two performances July 29 & 30 at the June Havoc Theatre.

Cast included Broadway vets Jay Russell and Michelle Pruiett, as well as Scott Breitbart, David Niles (who did MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS with Morgan long ago), Nikki Switzer, Caroline de Fauw, Rebecca Burton and Morgan.

The performance was in the patented Wildcat format (a zippy 90 minutes with no intermission) and directed by Daniel Haley. Previous Wildcat Theatricals productions in the Festival include George Axelrod's WILL SUCCESS SPOIL ROCK HUNTER? (Festival Award for Best Revival) and Harry Kurnitz's A SHOT IN THE DARK.

While Morgan was doing the research for THE ROGER EDENS SONGBOOK, he became friends with Leonard Gershe (he wrote BUTTERFLIES ARE FREE and the film FUNNY FACE). This reading of MISS PELL IS MISSING was dedicated to Leonard's memory.

FULLY COMMITTED in Provincetown in July

Morgan will appear for two performances at the Provincetown Theatre in Provincetown, MA in FULLY COMMITTED by Becky Mode: Sun & Mon July 18 & 19. All performances at 8 pm. Running time: 1h 20m.

This devastatingly funny off-Broadway hit follows a day in the life of Sam Peliczowski, an out-of-work actor who mans the red-hot reservation line at Manhattan's #1 resturant. Coercion, threats, bribes, histrionics--a cast of desperate callers will stop at nothing in their zeal to land a prime reservation, or the right table. Amid the barrage, Sam's got his own needs to contend with--his recently widowed Dad wants him to come home for Christmas, and he's up for a choice part at Lincoln Center. While juggling scheming socialites, name-dropping wannabes, fickle celebrities, and egomaniacal bosses, can Sam manage to look out for himself?

HAMMERSTEIN show a HIT!

Thanks to all who attended and helped make the two May 6 performances of the Hammerstein concert at Weymouth Center in Southern Pines, NC a smash. Both shows were sold out.

The two performances yesterday were a great kick-off for this brand new concert show. A terrific reception with great food, some press, and lots of pictures followed the second performance. All of us enjoyed our time at Weymouth.
