Writing a quick post on New Year's Eve before I throw caution to the winds and walk a few blocks over to Times Square.
2012 was a banner year, with Judson Theatre Company's inaugural season: Tab Hunter and Joyce DeWitt in Love Letters by A.R. Gurney, and Jamie Farr and Rejean Cournoyer in Tuesdays with Morrie. Both shows received a tremendous response. I'm thankful to the actors, the crew, and everyone else who helped make the shows happen--it really does take a small army to have a successful show!
Also, I'm deeply grateful to our audience: these shows are for you. As Judson Theatre Company heads into Season 2, we will continue to bring quality theatre to the Sandhills. Look for an announcement of our first 2013 show in the coming weeks!
And for you New Yorkers--there should be an off-Broadway announcement before too long.
So, I head into 2013 full of gratitude for the blessings of 2012--and working hard to make 2013 the best year ever. Please write me and let's talk about theatre; I'm eager to hear from you.
Save me an aisle seat (I've got long legs),
Morgan

Fall 2012 SETC Auditions
It's great to be here auditioning hundreds of actors for Judson Theatre Company's 2013 second season. Lots of talented folks gathered here at fall SETC (Southeastern Theatre Conference) in Atlanta.
After auditions are over, I think I'm going to write some general observations about how to "conquer" this type of audition. As a former actor who is now producing and casting, it's such a blessing to be part of the process--hope to offer some truly helpful insights to those who care.
Thanks to all who have come out to fall 2012 SETC auditions!

NCTC Producing Gathering...and more!
I'll be at the North Carolina Theatre Conference's (NCTC) Producing Gathering in Chapel Hill on Monday and Tuesday, as Executive Producer of Judson Theatre Company in Pinehurst.
Re: the previous post -- off-Broadway musical fundraising is complete; off-Broadway play revival has completed casting, with dazzling actors whose careers span stage, film, and tv.
Look for a big announcement from Judson Theatre Company soon re: our next shows.
And looking forward to directing FOREVER PLAID in 2013!

New Projects
There's a whole lot of producing going on! The uniting themes seem to be: Beloved stars in famous shows by well-known authors.
In NYC, Fundraising for an off-Broadway musical right now, as well as a major revival for early next year.
For the Road, packaging a star-driven tour with two Hollywood icons.
In North Carolina, Judson Theatre Company has two more shows in the pipeline--just finalizing the star casting.
Plus, I've been hired to direct a production of FOREVER PLAID in February 2012.
Lots of phone calls and emails about all these projects--I guess this is what it's like to have a "full plate."

Two LOVE LETTERS photos - Tab Hunter, Joyce DeWitt

"No production of “Love Letters” could have been more elegant, more delightful, more enthralling than this one.
Hunter and DeWitt are so well-matched, so balanced in that intricate dance of timing and subtlety you see when wonderful actors are at work." --The Pilot, Southern Pines, NC
